Self-portrait, north window, a Tuesday. The camera is a small Fujifilm.
A short note about the photographer — George Tohmé — and how to reach him for portraits, weddings, and documentary work.
I am George,
and I like to notice things.
I was about ten when my parents handed me a cheap camera and a roll of black-and-white film. I pointed it at my family, my friends, whatever was in front of me. That was it. I was hooked.
A lot of years passed between that first roll and now. I moved from Canada to Vilnius. I built software, started companies, stayed busy with other things. But the camera kept coming back. It always does when you love something enough.
These days I keep things simple. A camera, good light, and no fuss. I'd rather be present than set up.
What I love most is the stuff that almost gets missed. The look between two people when they think no one's watching. A quiet street in the ten minutes before it fills up. The kitchen after the party, when the real conversation starts.
If it's a portrait you're after, it's just you and me. No studio, no rush. We find the right light, the right angle, the shadows that make your face yours. A portrait session with me feels more like a conversation than a photo shoot. I'm looking for the version of you that shows up when you stop thinking about the camera.
If you're planning something small and personal — a wedding with thirty people on a porch, a dinner worth remembering, an afternoon with your family — I'd love to hear about it too. I work best when things are close and unhurried.
I'm not trying to make your day look like a magazine. I'm trying to make it look like it felt.
Write to me and tell me what you're thinking about. I'll write back.

Tell me about your moment.
A wedding. A morning. A street you keep going back to. Whatever it is, the more you say, the better I can answer.
